The Morning Star, Belfast is dishing up a treat for customers this January with top quality, prize winning beef and lamb available on its menu.
Following the 2019 Royal Ulster Premier Beef & Lamb Championships held at Eikon Exhibition Centre, Balmoral Park, Lisburn, the Belfast Bar and Restaurant purchased the 2019 Ulster Housewife’s Champion appropriately name ‘On the money’ for £4,700 from young breeder Jack Smyth. They also added a further 2 cattle to their menu as well as a pair of prize Beltex Lambs. Prime cuts from the show are being prepared by the Restaurant’s in-house butcher and they will be offered on the menu from the beginning of January.
The Pottinger’s Entry based establishment has had a long-standing tradition of purchasing award winning meat having previously purchased the 2018 Royal Ulster Beef & Lamb Championships Supreme Champion. Peita McAllister from the Morning Star commented, “Coming from a farming family we are delighted to be able to support our local farmers as well as providing the best quality beef & lamb for our customers. Our purchases from the show are currently being dry aged and will be available for our Champions night on the 11th January.”
